The landscape is dominated by the view of Berastagi far from the volcano and Sibayak Sinabung. On the west side of town, plateau of the hill Gundaling provides several views of the two towering volcano this.

Local market in Berastagi usually always filled with people buying and selling activities. Here, you'll see scenes from traditional Karo life and everything from miracle cures to secondhand shoes that are still for sale.

Three markets that you can explore the general market is held five times a week (not on Wednesday or Sunday) on the back of the bus terminal, daily fruit market which also sells souvenirs to the west of the roundabout and the Sunday market takes place every Sunday on the hill Gundaling.

In this tourist area, you also can follow a golf course which is offered several hotels and resorts with incredible scenery in the background.

For another different experience, you can visit the Karo highlands. There you will find a thick pine forests, hot springs and traditional villages.

Some examples of traditional architecture of the Karo Batak may be found at Linga village located 15 kilometers from Berastagi. In the Linga you'll find about a dozen traditional houses with roofs typical of horns.

Brastagi tourist area can be reached by taxi or bus from Medan Polonia International Airport. It will travel a distance of about 66 kilometers from Medan and takes about two hours.
